Our Story

Fireworks and a Sprained Ankle

Chris and Victoria met on New Years Eve...a night filled with celebration, fresh beginnings and a little bit of fate.

Victoria had other plans that night but she made a last minute decision to stop by a friends house party before heading out to her original plans. It was supposed to be a quick pop in to say "hi". Nothing life changing. But then she met Chris.

Victoria tried to flirt with him a few times... and he confidently ignored every single attempt. In his defense he thought she was taken. Victoria decided it was time to leave as she did in fact have a date for the night already waiting for her.

Just as she was heading out, Chris's best friend asked him why he hadn't made a move, especially with her being the only single girl there. That's when he realized he had made a critical mistake.

Chris walked Victoria out to her truck, and the two stood there talking for longer than expected. He asked her not to leave and said he'd gladly be her date instead. She told him she really did have to go but maybe she will come back later.

As their friends began lighting off fireworks overhead, Chris smiled and pointed out how romantic the interaction had just gotten. He asked if he could kiss her, she agreed.

As Chris went in for the kiss... he rolled his ankle... and fell straight to the ground...

Under a sky full of fireworks, in what may go down as the least smooth first kiss attempt in history, Victoria said to herself "Oh... there he is."

And somehow, that was it. The universe knew it couldn't just send Victoria a subtle sign... it had to send a whole damn man falling to the ground. And yes Chris did jump right back up and got his New Years kiss.

From a spontaneous last minute decision, to ignored flirting, to fireworks and a twisted ankle, their love story started in the most perfectly imperfect way... And they wouldn't change a single thing.
